Thank y'all for giving me the info. I really think finding a doctor who understands and knows what to do is about as bad TN. I have had the worse time!!!! I have said this before, but I will say it again, this site has been so good for me. I really appreciate everyone being so honest and helpful. Thank y'all for your insight.
Hi Ginger: I am taking 600 mg of Tegretol (200 3 times a day). I did not have strong symptoms, but after taking the drug I have none. The only downside that I can see is it does affect memory in a negative way. I cannot remember the names of people I have known for years, and last Sunday I was getting ready for church and couldn't remember how to tie my tie.
The dr up me to 300mg daily and did drew blood to check my liver. I go back on Wednesday and actually hope he ups it again. I totally understand about forgetting things (not the tie - haha). I teach Sunday School and I have had to make sure I write down ever point God want me to cover. There was a time I could remember just from an outline but not on this stuff. However, I will write down every word in exchange for the pain.
