Right now I’m using a mix of gapapentin (nuerontin) depakote (which I originally started for migraines but it seems to be helping the ATN) and lidocaine patch. I’ve been basically pain free for six months at this point.
Hello,
I am a new member. I had shingles in March which was caught early. Then in April I started getting symptoms of TN, which at the time I thought it was a sinus infection. After months of going back and forth from the doctor to the dentist and back, I was diagnosed with TN. I am still learning about the disorder and I am struggling with trying to keep the pain under control. Thanks for listening.
Are you sure it’s not just shingles hanging on? Average the shingles outbreak last about 5 weeks, about 15% of the time the outbreak lasts 12+ weeks and pain may continue for up to 18 months.
