Ace inhibitors

hello,i am female aged 61 and have been suffering with gpn for 2 years. i diagnosed myself with aid from the pc and this was confirmed by the neurologist i was referred to after i saw my young french gp who seemed unaware of this condition. having suffered a heart attack 6years ago i am on a number of meds including some for high bp. i cannot say when exactly i was first prescribed an ace inhibitor called ramipril- firstly 2.5 then 5 and then recently was toldto take another 2.5. awaking in severe pain one morning it occurred to me that my recent return to very bad may have coincided with this latest 2.5. looked it up on the pc and found that it can and should enlarge arteries. i am now ino day 3 of not taking the latest increased dose, and feeling a bit better. i intend to gradually decrease th ramipri to zero, see how i feel and then get the gp to check if the onset of gpn coincided with starting the drug. also see if the bp is any different without because i suspect being in constant pain may increase it.

does anyone else have similar observations?
